Rich & Tasty: Negroni Bolognese

Never thought that I would actually mix cocktails into my cooking, but this experiment is a real winner!


INGREDIENTS

- 500g Chicken Mince

- 1 Brown Onion

- 400g Dried Pasta

- 250g Punnet Cherry Tomatoes

- 2 Cloves of Garlic

- 300g Chopped Mushrooms

- Fresh Continental Parsley

- Fresh Basil

- Fresh Oregano

- 1 Bay Leaf

- Garlic Infused Olive Oil

- Sea Salt

- Cracked Pepper

- Orange Zest (1/4 Orange)

- 4 Tablespoons Tomato Paste

- Tomato Sauce 500g

- 1/2 Cup of Gin

- 1/2 Cup of Campari

- 1/2 Cup of Sweet Vermouth



METHOD

1. Place the...

- Chicken Mince

- Chopped Brown Onion

- Garlic Infused Olive Oil

- Chopped Mushrooms

- Bay Leaf

...into a fry pan and cook until cooked

2. Place the... - Punnet of Cherry Tomatoes

- 2 Cloves of Garlic

- Basil

- Parsley

- Oregano

- Pinch of Sea Salt

- Pinch of Cracked Pepper

- Tomato Paste

- Tomato Pasta Sauce

...into a blender or food processor.

3. Pour ingredients from the blender

into a pot with the ingredients from the

pan. Stir over a medium heat.

4. Add...

- Gin

- Campari

- Sweet Vermouth

...and simmer for 30 minutes until the

liquid reduces.

5. Boil the dried pasta to your liking.

6. Serve the Negroni Bolognese on top

of the cooked pasta with orange zest

and a sprig of Continental Parsley.

Make sure you enjoy this dish with

a Negroni of course!
