The NSW & QLD based not-for-profit organisation, Women in Hospitality (WOHO) is launching the second round of this successful Mentor Program, and are inviting all industry professionals to their virtual launch event to mark the occasion.
Following the program launch in February 2020, hospitality professionals across Australia will have the opportunity to hear from the current mentors and mentees as they highlight their experiences so far. The six-month program will see a mentee paired up with relevant mentor inspiring them to think big and to gain invaluable hands on experience from the industry’s best.
Welcomed by WOHO Directors Lisa Hobbs & Claire Van Vuuren, the event brings together like-minded individuals at every level - Back of House, Front of House or those in administration roles - all are welcome to the Mentor Program. Applications for both mentors and mentees are open, and all are encouraged to apply.
The WOHO Mentor Program is proudly sponsored by JRM Hospitality Recruitment, working together to inspire, support & foster the career development of women in the hospitality industry. Lisa Hobbs explains: “Mentoring merges the personal with the professional – you get to celebrate a person in their entirety. It encapsulates training, motivation, advice, success, direction, coaching, support & goals all in one. It is highly rewarding – you see people develop and grow”.
WOHO was founded by Julia Campbell in 2016 as a way to champion women in the industry and give them a portal to explore ideas, share information and provide access to education and mentoring initiatives. Some of the particapting mentors include celebrated Chef John McFadden, CEO of Lotus Dining Group Mindy Woods and WOHO Director, Chef, Sommelier and owner Lisa Margan of Margan Wines.
For attendees in the Sydney and Brisbane metro areas, tickets are $25 and include a celebration pack that will be delivered in advance of the event, for guests to enjoy together online.
